Authors maintain all rights to their books. Publishers have the right to work with the authors to sell and promote the books, authors, and related products in an agreeable win-win manner.
Sales of books from author’s website, speaking, events, etc. belong solely to the author. Sales of books from the publisher’s website are split with the author as both see fit, such as a 50/50 split.
Publishers will be given private access to Author Pool in order to upload (cover, description, author bio, etc.) their books to the Author Pool system.
Authors will be given private access from their Author Pool publisher to update their book stats, sales, and other promotional news.
Author Pool provides book creation (writing, ghostwriting, editing), production (cover, layout for print, ISBN, barcode, ebook conversion, illustrations, animations, proofing), printing, and marketing (website creation, blogging, social media services) as needed.
Authors who are picked up by a traditional publisher, Author Pool and the publisher will receive a percentage of signing bonus and royalties (both paid directly by the publisher).
It is understood that authors who come to Author Pool, choose a publisher, and are accepted by a publisher will be treated with integrity and respect. Services will be provided through Author Pool to maintain quality, pricing, and a good relationship for long-term growth.
It is understood that publishers are completely free to accept or reject books that are submitted for their review.
Publishers or authors who refuse to abide by Author Pool’s terms will be removed from the Author Pool system. Agreements made with traditional publishers, such as signing bonuses or royalties, will still be binding and remain in effect for 6 months.
Traditional publishers and agents are invited to review authors in the Author Pool, but it is left to them to initiate conversation based on their level of interest.
All publishers and authors agree to indemnify, defend, and hold Author Pool and its successors, officers, directors, agents, and employees harmless from any and all actions, causes of action, claims, demands, costs, liabilities, expenses, and damages arising out of, or in connection with any breach of this agreement.
